NORMAL, Ill. – The Drake University women's tennis team routed Illinois State 7-0 on Friday afternoon.

The Bulldogs swept all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead.

In singles action, Drake didn't allow an ISU player to win more than four games. The Redbirds defaulted at No. 6, while Adrienne Jensen (Iowa City, Iowa) trounced ISU's Catherine Shulman, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5. Maddie Johnson (Onalaska, Wis.) rolled past her competition taking No. 2, 6-3, 6-1. Summer Brills (North Oaks, Minn. ) at No. 3 and Nell Boyd (Arlington Heights, Ill.) at No. 4 each won their first set 6-0. Boyd finished with a 6-0, 6-1 victory, while Brills came away with a 6-0, 6-2 win. Mariel Ante (Riverside, Calif.) completed the sweep with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 1.

The Bulldogs have a quick turnaround as they travel to Bradley in Peoria, Ill. on Saturday at 1 p.m.
