DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake University senior sprinter Steven Jordan (McFarland, Wis.) has been named a men's track and field/cross country Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree.
Jordan, who maintains a perfect 4.0 grade point average in his pharmacy coursework, was a 2014 Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-American and a 2014 Missouri Valley Conference Elite 18 Award winner.
Jordan recently finished seventh in the 200 meters and MVC Outdoor Championship and ran a leg on the Bulldogs' 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays.
During the indoor season, he finished fifth in the 200m and sixth in 400m at the MVC Championship.
To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 20,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
