Liza Petushkova led the Drake University women's tennis on the final day of the FIU Invitational Sunday in Miami, Fla.
Petushkova topped FIU's Markovic, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 to win the #3 singles draw championship.
Senior
Mela Jaglarz earned a 6-4, 5-7, 10-2 win over Texas State Murcia to claim the #4 singles draw consolation championship.
Junior
Kenya Williams also earned a victory on the final day of the three-day event as she defeated Texas State's Guttierez 6-4, 6-2.
Fellow junior
Joely Lomas finished in fourth-place as she dropped a tough three-setter to TSU's Lewis, 4-6, 7-6(3), 10-4 in the #2 singles third-place match. Senior
Tess Herder fell to TSU's Perez, 6-0, 6-4 in the #1 singles consolation championship match.
The Bulldogs will use the next few months to prepare for the spring season as they open the 2018 campaign on Jan. 20 against Creighton.
