TULSA, Okla. – Drake University men's tennis Vinny Gillespie fell in the first-round of the ITA All-American Championships singles main draw Thursday in Tulsa, Okla.
 
Gillespie, who is ranked 52nd in the ITA Preseason Singles Ranking, dropped the first-set 6-3 but managed to force a third and decisive set by winning the second-set 6-4. Columbia's Jackie Tang, who is ranked 73rd, knocked Gillespie out of the main draw with a 6-1 third-set victory.
 
Gillespie will continue play on Friday as he squares off against Florida's Johannes Ingildsen in the consolation draw.
