Milwaukee, Wis. – The Drake University women's tennis team swept UW-Milwaukee, 4-0, on Sunday at the River Glen Elite in Milwaukee, Wis.
 
The Bulldogs took an early 1-0 lead by winning the doubles point. Summer Brills and Mela Jaglarz defeated Eszter Zador and Nicole Clarke, 6-3, at No. 3, while Alex Kozlowski and Joely Lomas topped Hayley Marshall and Aerielle Pendleton, 7-5, to clinch the doubles point.
 
"Alex Kozlowski and Joely Lomas put in a particularly strong effort at second doubles to clinch the first point, and the Bulldogs took the momentum into their singles play. They competed fiercely on all courts to force a 4-0 shutout," said Drake assistant coach Paul Gibbs.
 
Drake continued its momentum from doubles into singles rolled past the Panthers for a 4-0 sweep.
 
Tess Herder cruised past Zador, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 2 singles give Drake a 2-0 lead. Kenya Williams put together a dominating 6-2, 6-1 performance over Alysa Straub at No. 4 to give Drake a commanding 3-0 lead.
 
Brills clinched the match for Drake with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Labina Petrovska at No. 1 singles.

The Bulldogs return to action on Friday at St. Louis.
