DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's tennis team travels to Saint Louis on Friday before hosting Eastern Illinois on Sunday at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center at 11 a.m.
The Bulldogs enter the weekend with a 5-4 record and are coming off a 4-0 sweep at Milwaukee on March 5. Drake's sweep of the Panthers was its first of the season.
Tess Herder cruised past Zador, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 2 singles give Drake a 2-0 lead.
Kenya Williams put together a dominating 6-2, 6-1 performance over Alysa Straub at No. 4 to give Drake a commanding 3-0 lead.
Summer Brills clinched the match for Drake with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Labina Petrovska at No. 1 singles.
Saint Louis has a 7-6 record and are on a two-match winning streak. The Billikins earned a pair of 7-0 wins last weekend over Missouri State and Western Illinois, respectively. Mariluz Rojo Domingo leads the team with a 10-3 singles record and has went 8-2 in her last 10 matches.
Eastern Illinois has 8-3 mark with an impressive 6-1 record on the road. The Panthers are coming off 6-1 loss to DePaul. Stella Cliffe leads the squad with a 10-1 record, while Kelly Iden, who is the team's top singles player, has a 8-3 mark.
Following this week's matches, the Bulldogs host Gustavus Adolphus on Sunday, March 19.
