DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University men's soccer team welcomes Omaha Saturday night to the Cownie Soccer Complex for a non-conference contest.
 
Drake (6-3-1) takes a break from Missouri Valley Conference play when the Mavericks visit Des Moines. In their last league game, the Bulldogs edged Central Arkansas, 1-0. Sophomore Leroy Enzugusi (Marion, Iowa) scored the game winner in the 36^th minute and junior goalkeeper Jared Brown (Aurora, Ontario) and the defense recorded the team's third shutout this season. Brown and Enzugusi were honored by the MVC Tuesday by being named the MVC Defensive Player of the Week and the MVC Offensive Player of the Week, respectively. Both are the first MVC weekly awards for the duo.
 
Omaha (2-5-1) is coming off a scoreless draw to Campbell Wednesday in Omaha, Neb. The Mavericks own a slight edge, 2-1-1, in the head-to-head series versus Drake. Sophomore Diego Gutierrez leads the team in goals with five and assists with four.
 
Following Saturday's match, Drake travels to Evansville Oct. 13 for MVC action. The road contest will start at 5 p.m. and be broadcast on ESPN3.
