Men’s Basketball Hosts Rider Wednesday Night

Bulldogs to play the final home game of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic

The Drake University men's basketball team continues its two-game homestand Wednesday, Dec. 19, when Rider visits the Knapp Center for a 7 p.m. contest as part of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic.

The Bulldogs return to their home court, where they are undefeated this season, after besting SIUE, 79-66, Monday evening in the first Las Vegas Classic contest.

Nick Norton, the reigning two-time MVC Newcomer of the Week had 15 points and four assists in that win while freshman D.J. Wilkins had 12 points, five assists and four steals to help the Bulldogs remain undefeated at home this season at 4-0. Norton has amassed a 36-to-6 assist to turnover ratio in the last five games with a pair of double-figure assist games including a school-record 17 assists against North Dakota State that was part of a triple-double.

As a result of Norton and Wilkins' efforts, the Bulldogs have recorded 20 or more assists in back-to-back games and rank 28th nationally in assists with 17.4 per game.

Rider visits the Knapp Center after falling at Washington State, 94-80, Monday evening to move to 4-4 on the season. The Broncs are the defending Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Champions.

Following Wednesday's game, both teams will depart for Las Vegas for the final two games of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic, Dec. 22-23.
