Box Score NORMAN, Okla. – The Drake University women's tennis team concluded the first day of the ITA Central Region Championships Thursday, Oct. 17 afternoon at Headington Family Tennis Center.
 
Sophia Haleas, Carmen Palumbo and Maria Tatarnikova each won their respective opening match in the singles qualifying first round. However, the trio were each were defeated in their respective second round matches.
 
Play continues Friday for the Bulldogs in Norman. Liza Petushkova joins her teammates with her first match in the singles main draw at 11:30 a.m. Prior to Petushkova's singles match, she will partner with Tatarnikova and Haleas and Palumbo will unite for doubles at 8 a.m. in the first round of the main doubles draw.
