Petushkova and Lomas Advance In Doubles Play At SDSU Fall Classic II

Bulldogs return to the court Saturday morning.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Drake University women's doubles team of Liza Petushkova and Joely Lomas advanced in their doubles bracket Friday afternoon to open the San Diego State Fall Classic II.

The pair defeated Eastern Washington's Yasmin Mansouri and Marta Heinen easily by a 6-0 margin.

Petushkova also competed in singles action, dropping a 7-6 (4), 7-5 and a 6-2, 6-0 decision to competitors from San Diego State and Denver. Carmen Palumbo and Maria Tatarnikova also dropped their opening matches in singles bracket and will continue to play in the consolation brackets.

The Bulldogs return to the courts in San Diego Saturday morning for the second day of the SDSU Fall Classic II.
