DES MOINES, Iowa – The No. 46 Drake University men's tennis team collected its ninth and 10th wins of the season with a pair of wins Saturday at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center. The Bulldogs opened the day with a 6-1 Summit League win over North Dakota and a 5-2 win against Nebraska. The victory against the Cornhuskers improved the Bulldogs to 3-0 against Big Ten competition this season.
 
In the evening match against Nebraska, Drake (10-4) opened up by winning the doubles points courtesy of victories from Bayo Philips/Finley Hall and Calum MacGeoch and Tom Hands.
 
The Bulldogs added to that lead when No. 64 Tom Hands continued his tear with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles followed by a Ben Clark victory at No. 6 singles by a 6-2, 6-2 margin. Calum MacGeoch clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles.
 
Drake opened the morning with another doubles point win over North Dakota. Tom Hands/Calum MacGeoch won the No. 3 match 6-1 and then Vinny Gillespie/Ben Clark clinched the point with their victory in the No. 1 match, 6-2. Bayo Philips/Finley Hall won the No. 3 match 7-6.

In singles action, Drake went to work fast as the Bulldogs won the No. 5, 2, 1, and 4 matches to secure the victory against North Dakota. Clark won his No. 5 match 6-4, 6-4, Hands claimed his No. 2 match 6-2, 6-2 followed by Gillespie's win in the No. 1 match 6-3, 6-4 and finally MacGeoch won 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 4. Phillips was the only Bulldog to lose as he lost 5-7, 0-6 in the No. 3 match. Hall earned a victory in the No. 6 match 6-4, 6-2.
 
The Bulldogs take to the road next for matches in Kansas against Oral Roberts and Wichita State March 1.
