Fogg Named MVC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week

Newcomer earns the Bulldogs' third honor of the season.

For the second-straight week, a member of the Drake University cross country team has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

Newcomer Adam Fogg (Brisbane, Australia) earned the honor after taking first place at last Friday's Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa.

He completed the 6-kilometer course in 18:06.08 to win the race by nearly 10 seconds over Iowa's Nathan Mylenek, who was an NCAA cross country qualifier and All-American in the steeplechase last year.

Fogg's finish is the fastest 6k time in the Valley this season and he averaged a 4:51 per mile pace throughout the race.

His award comes on the heels of teammates Matt Cozine and Millie Bretl winning the honor in the season's first week.
