MINNEAPOLIS – The Drake University women's tennis team completed its second day at the 2019 Gopher Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 21.
Freshman
Kendal Hunt earned the Bulldogs' lone singles victory with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Agata Jurczak of Milwaukee.
Sophia Haleas dropped a hard-fought semifinal match to Oumaima Aziz of Iowa State, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. Haleas will play Lucia De Santa Ana of Minnesota Sunday for third place in the "D" bracket.
In doubles,
Liza Petushkova and
Maria Tatarnikova rebounded from their first loss of the day with a 6-2 victory over Proudfoot/Carr of UNI.
The Gopher Invitational concludes Sunday at the University of Minnesota's Baseline Tennis Center.
