Cross Country Heads to Iowa And Minnesota

Bulldogs split up for a pair of meets Friday.

The Drake University men's and women's teams will be splitting up Friday with each sending competitors to races at Minnesota and Iowa.

Groups of Bulldogs will compete at both the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa, and the Oz Memorial in Falcon Heights, Minn.

The Hawkeye Invitational begins at 6 p.m. with a women's 4-kilometer race, followed by a 6-kilometer race men's race at 6:45 p.m. at the Ashton Cross Country Course.

The Bulldogs will be joined by host, Iowa, Illinois State UNI and Iowa State.

Another group of Bulldog harriers head north to the Twin Cities for the annual Oz Memorial. The race is named in honor of former Bulldog head coach, Gary Osborn.

The meet consists of a 4-mile men's race at 6:30 p.m., followed by a 6-kilometer women's race at 7 p.m.

The Bulldogs head to the events led by the reigning Missouri Valley Conference Athlete's of the Week in Matt Cozine and Millie Bretl. The pair paced Drake in last weekend's season opener at Creighton.
