Des Moines’ Hometown Team Uniforms Unveiled

Bulldogs to wear Des Moines inspired alternate uniforms Jan. 31 and Feb. 1

The Drake University men's and women's basketball teams officially unveiled special Des Moines' Hometown Team uniforms that will be worn during the team's upcoming Des Moines Hometown Team Weekend, Jan. 31 - Feb. 1.

Designed by Drake Athletics and John Bosley of Bozz Prints, the uniforms pay homage to the City of Des Moines with various design elements that reinforce Drake's commitment to be Des Moines' Hometown Team.

Manufactured by adidas, the uniform features the iconic Des Moines skyline above 'Des Moines' in a script that harkens to the Bulldogs 1969 Men's Final Four team. The double-lined collar also incorporates throwback elements of the Bulldogs' history.

The hem of the shorts captures the design elements of the city flag of Des Moines while the side of the shorts includes the Block 'D' worn by many of the Bulldogs' most successful men's and women's teams.

Merchandise featuring the Des Moines' Hometown Team designs will be available at Scheels in Jordan Creek Town Center, the Drake University Bookstore and at home games at the Knapp Center.

The uniforms make their on-court debut Jan. 31 when the Drake women's basketball team hosts Valparaiso. The men will be outfitted in their uniforms the following day, Feb. 1, against SIU.
