DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University men's tennis team lost to Gonzaga, 5-2, in a closely-contested dual on Saturday night at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center. Gonzaga prevailed in two third-set tiebreakers to leave Des Moines with the victory.

Oliver Johansson and Matija Matic won 6-2 in No. 2 doubles, and Finley Hall and Evan Fragistas emerged victorious, 6-2, at No. 3 to clinch the doubles point for Drake. Barny Thorold and Reid Jarvis fell, 4-6, at No. 1.

Johansson continued a dominant day with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 3 to give Drake a 2-0 lead. Gonzaga battled back with wins at No. 5 and No. 1 to knot the dual at 2-2.

Fragistas fell in an intense match, 6-4, 3-6, 6-7, as Gonzaga leapt to a 3-2 lead. The Zags clinched it as Hall fell, 5-7, 6-3, 6-7. Hall fought through a compromised leg in the third set.
