Drake at Missouri State Postgame Notes

TEAM NOTES
  • The loss gave Drake back-to-back losses for the second time this season and just the second time in the last two seasons. Drake is 7-2 following a loss this season.
  • Drake falls to 2-8 in road games this season and 1-6 in MVC road games.
  • In its last three losses, Drake's opponents have shot 38-of-64 (.594) from the three-point arc. In the Bulldogs seven MVC losses, opponents have shot 70-of-154 (.455) from three-point range.
  • Despite the loss, Drake has won 29 of its last 42 games.
  • Drake's 22-point deficit in the first half was the second-biggest deficit the Bulldogs have faced in MVC play this season and the eventual 35-margin was the biggest this season.
  • Drake shot 41.9 percent from two-point range in the loss and is now shooting 54.4 percent (236-of-434) inside the arc in MVC games.
  • In its seven MVC losses, Drake is averaging just 10.6 free throw attempts.
  • Missouri State's 97 points were the most the Bulldogs have surrendered in a regulation game since Colorado scored 100 points Nov. 18, 2018. It was the most scored by an MVC opponent since Loyola scored 98 on Dec. 29, 2016 in a game that Drake won 102-98. 

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Noah Thomas had a season-high 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting and matched a season-high with four assists.
  • D.J. Wilkins had 13 points to mark his second-straight game in double-figure scoring. He is shooting 6-of-15 from three-point range in those games.
  • Liam Robbins had three blocks to extend his school-record total to 73 blocks this season. He now has 108 career blocks to rank fourth in Drake history.
  • Roman Penn was held below his average in assists for just the 10th time this season. He has a 37-to-10 assist-to-turnover ratio in the last eight games.
  • Penn has 151 assists this season, the fourth-most in school history. He needs five more to move into a tie for third with Terry Benka's 156 from 1976-77
  • Garrett Sturtz made both of his field-goal attempts and is shooting 26-of-33 in the last seven games
  • Jonah Jackson made three three-pointers. It was his 11th game with two or more three-pointers. He also attempted his fourth two-point shot of the season.

SERIES NOTES
  • Drake fell to 18-44 all-time against Missouri State. The loss snapped Drake's five-game win streak over the Bears, Drake's longest streak in the series.
  • The Bulldogs fell to 4-24 in Springfield and 3-9 in JQH Arena.
