Seven Drake student-athletes were named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans during the 2019-20 season, a total that again places the Bulldogs among the national leaders in earning the prestigious honor.
Drake's seven CoSIDA Academic All-Americans tied for the fifth-most in the nation along with Duke University and Texas Tech. Stanford led the nation with 15 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans followed by Alabama (12), Navy (9) and Minnesota (8).
Drake was trailed by Harvard, Michigan, Virginia, Michigan State, Kentucky and Arkansas with six.
Drake's seven honorees also led the Missouri Valley Conference by a significant margin as the other nine league members combined for 12 total Academic All-Americans.

Those seven selections continued Drake's legacy of being among the national leaders in earning CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. Drake's 20 Academic All-Americans in the last three seasons ranks fifth nationally behind only Stanford, Alabama, Minnesota and Navy.
Drake's 2019-20 Academic All-Americans included three football student-athletes, Jacob Bacon (Football), Victor Jergens (Football) and Isaiah Kent-Schneider (Football) as the Bulldogs had the most football Academic All-Americans in the nation.
The group also featured Nate Seaberg (Men's Soccer), Sara Rhine (Women's Basketball), Becca Hittner (Women's Basketball), Manid Roemmich (Softball).
Bacon, Jergens, Rhine, Seaberg and Roemmich were all first-team honorees as well.
