CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The Drake University volleyball team fell 3-0 to No. 25 Marquette Sunday evening in the Bulldogs' first loss of the season.
Drake (4-1, 2-0 MVC) fell to the Golden Eagles by set scores of 25-23, 25-14, 25-15 in a neutral-site match in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
The Bulldogs were led by newcomer
Lindsey Pliapol, a transfer from USF, with 13 of the Bulldogs 30 kills. However, Drake committed 15 hitting errors in the three sets to give the Golden Eagles an edge in scoring.
Marquette (4-1) hit .246 in the win with Taylor Wolf registering a 12-kill, 12-assist, 15-dig double-double. Hope Werch chipped in with 10 kills.

Gillian Gergen and
Macy DeLeye all had three blocks.
The Bulldogs return home to continue Missouri Valley Conference action Feb. 7-8 against Bradley in the Knapp Center.
