DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University men's basketball team hosted its annual media day Monday afternoon in the Shivers Basketball Practice Facility.
 
Media day started with head coach Darian DeVries previewing the upcoming 2021-22 season for his team. DeVries returns his entire starting five from last season's NCAA Tournament team along with several key contributors from the bench. In addition, three newcomers in graduate transfer, Ayo Akinwole, from Omaha and a pair of talented freshmen, Tucker DeVries and Conor Enright are set for their first seasons as Bulldogs.
 
Following DeVries' opening remarks, student-athletes were made available for one-on-one interviews, photos and videos.
 
Drake hosts Drury Nov. 4 at the Knapp Center in its lone exhibition contest before it welcomes Coe on Nov. 9 for the season-opener.
