ELKHORN, Neb. – The Drake University women's golf team is in fifth place after the first day of the Stampede at the Creek hosted by the University of Omaha at the Indian Creek Golf Course. Drake carded a team score of 316 in the first round and matched that with a 316 in the second round for a two-round total of 632. North Dakota State sits in first place in the team standings at 600. The Bulldogs are four strokes behind Western Illinois at 628.
Individually,
Kristen Giles and
Haeri Lee paced the team and are tied for 11
th on the individual leaderboard with day one scores of 152. Giles posted the team's low round of the day with a +1 over par 73 in the afternoon to be tied with Lee who went 77 and 75.
Sam Paulak is tied for 26
th at 160 while
Gracie Tribolet is tied for 32
nd at 164. Tribolet is playing as individual.
Aayushi Sarkar is in 49
th place at 173 while
Kelly Kavanagh had to withdraw late in the second round.
The tournament's final round will be contested tomorrow with tee times.
