BROOKINGS, S.D. – One week after becoming the first Drake Bulldog to break the 4-minute mark in the mile,
Adam Fogg repeated the feat Saturday afternoon at the SDSU Last Chance Meet.
Fogg bested the field in 3:59.81, just slightly off his school record pace of 3:59.03 set last weekend as he became the first Drake student-athlete to break the 4-minute mark in the event. However, his time at the SDSU Last Chance Meet was still good enough to win the event by nearly 10 seconds. His peformance was also the first-ever sub 4-minute mile ever run inside the borders of the state of South Dakota.
Fogg, who is the current MVC Track Athlete of the Week, was joined in Saturday's field by teammate
Ryan Schweizer who was third in 4:09.47. The pair were the only two Bulldogs competing as they attempted to improve their times in the national rankings ahead of next week's MVC Championship on the 200-meter track at the UNI Dome, Feb. 26-28.
