DADE CITY, Fla. - The Drake University men's golf team opened its 2021 spring season Monday at the annual Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play hosted by Ball State University at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
 
UConn defeated Drake, 4.5-1.5, in the morning but the Bulldogs bounced back with a 4-2 win over the Cardinals in the afternoon. Tim Lim led Drake with a pair of victories playing in the No. 1 spot while Kyle MacDonald in the No. 5 spot halved his morning match and claimed a victory against Ball State. In addition, Nick Pittman and Silvester Tan, won their matches versus the Cardinals in the No. 4 and No. 6 matches, respectively.
 
Drake will face MVC rival Loyola in the final round of the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play that is set for Tuesday morning at 7:30 p.m. CST.
