Adam Fogg easily advanced out of his preliminary heat in the mile at the NCAA Indoor Championship Friday afternoon to be one of 10 competitors that will compete for an NCAA title Saturday afternoon.
Fogg, Drake's school record holder in the event and the first sub 4-minute miler in program history, advanced by finishing third in the second of two preliminary heats Friday afternoon at Arkansas' Randal Tyson Center.
Fogg finished in 4:05.73 thanks to a blazing final 800 meters that saw him make up four spots to advance to Sunday's final.
His qualifying for the final has already earned him All-American honors and a top-8 finish Saturday would net the Australian first team All-America status.
Fogg and the other 10 finalists will line up against Saturday at 2 p.m. in the finals.
