DES MOINES, IOWA – The Drake women's soccer team ended its annual senior day match in a scoreless draw against Southern Illinois Sunday afternoon at Drake Stadium.

Libby Helverson had an opportunity in the first half but missed the target high. She attempted four more shots for Drake, one of which was stopped by SIU keeper Maddy Alauf.
"We weren't very sharp or dangerous in the first half, but we started to get ahold of the ball in wide areas, which created some good chances," said head coach
Lindsey Horner. "Late into the second half and in overtime, we had clear chances to win the game, but just couldn't find the back of the net."
Senior
Hannah Bormann also had an opportunity to score in the second half but was stopped by Alauf. Drake ended with four shots on goal.
SIU's (0-2-3) Kaitlin Ducharmae took four shots for the Salukis and two on goal, which were both stopped by Drake keeper
Kelsie Stone.
Stone faced eight shots and saved all three shots on goal in her 110 minutes on the field to preserve the 0-0 draw.
Horner said, "I'm pleased with the quality of chances we did create and know our team will put them away next time. We will take the point and the shutout and look to take this eagerness to reward our efforts with goals on the road to Valpo."
The Bulldogs head to Indiana next to take on Valparaiso on Friday March 19. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.
