PHOENIX, Ariz. – Senior
Tim Lim of the Drake University men's golf team finished tied for 19th at the Grand Canyon University Invite held at the GCU Championship Golf Course. Drake finished 15
th with a score of 892 after posting a 305 Tuesday (297-290-305-892).
Wichita State won the tournament by two shots (280-290-290-862) over Southern Mississippi. Medalist honors went to Michael Salazar of Grand Canyon (71-70-66-207).
Lim, who entered the final round tied for sixth and two shots behind the leader, shot a 76 (+5) for a three-round score of 217 (72-69-76). He played his first seven holes Tuesday at 2-under but struggled the next nine at 5-over par before closing with three-straight pars.
Junior
Lucas Scherf matched Lim with a 76 Tuesday, which was his best score in the tournament. Senior
Kyle MacDonald led the Bulldogs in the final round with a 74.
Drake travels to Springfield, Mo. March 22-23 for the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate.
