The Drake University volleyball team collected its fifth-straight win with a dominant 3-0 victory over SIU Sunday afternoon.
The Bulldogs cruised past SIU by set scores of 25-21, 25-17, 25-15 to improve to 11-5 on the season and 9-4 in the Missouri Valley Conference standings.
Drake hit .275 in the win and the defense had 61 digs, its fourth-most in a three-set match this season. Senior
Kylee Macke led that effort for Drake with 16 digs.
Offensively,
Haley Bush led Drake with 16 kills on 38 attempts with 14 digs and a pair of blocks.
Emily Plock added 12 kills on 26 attempts. Linsdey Pliapol, who was coming off a career-best 20 kills, registered seven on 14 attempts.
Caitlyn Smith kept the offense moving with her 34 assists.
The Bulldogs also got six aces, their third-most in a match this season.
Drake and SIU close out their series Monday evening at 5 p.m. in the Bulldogs' home finale. Monday's match will also serve as the Bulldogs 'Senior Night.'
