DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University volleyball team picked up its sixth-straight win with a 3-1 victory over visiting SIU to close out the Bulldogs' home season.
 
Drake (12-5, 10-4 MVC) sent the Salukis packing by set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 23-25, 25-21.
 
The first three sets feature a combined 16 lead changes, but the Bulldogs never trailed in the fourth set to close out the victory. 
 
Haley Bush led the Bulldogs again with 23 kills on 64 attempts while Caitlyn Smith had 53 assists.
 
Gillian Gergen, playing in her final home match, had eight blocks and five kills on 12 attempts as she continues to climb up the Drake all-time blocks list. 
 
Also on defense, three Bulldogs had 20 or more digs in the match with Bush and Jada Wills both recording career highs. Bush had 27 digs while Wills had 25. Kylee Macke also added 20 digs.
 
SIU (2-16, 1-15 MVC) was led by 18 kills from Hannah Becker.
 
The Bulldogs close out the season next weekend with a two-match series at Loyola.
