Women's Tennis To Challenge Iowa State

In-state rival, Iowa State, will visit the Roger Knapp Center Saturday.

The Drake University women's tennis team prepares to take on in-state rival, Iowa State Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs defeated both Omaha and Grand Canyon last weekend with the results of 7-0 and 4-3, respectively, leading to a 4-3 record on the season. Last weekend extended the Bulldogs win streak to three matches. Liza Petushkova, Ines Stephani and Darinka Stepan all secured victories in both matches of singles competition.

Iowa State comes into Saturday with a record of 7-2. They won their first seven matches of the season before losing their last two to Missouri and Kansas. The Cyclones have won the last four matches against the Bulldogs, including three battles in the Roger Knapp Tennis Center. Drake last beat Iowa State in March, 2015 by a 4-3 margin.

The Bulldogs will follow an in-state rival match with another as they travel to Cedar Falls to take on UNI to start Missouri Valley Conference play March 12.
