The Drake University volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback Sunday afternoon in the final match of the season-opening Cyclone Challenge in Ames, Iowa.
The Bulldogs fell by set scores of 25-10, 25-17, 25-17.
Drake (0-2) was held to just 0.053 percent hitting with Omaha (1-1) registering 19 more kills than the Bulldogs.
Senior
Emily Plock led Drake with six kills on 15 attempts with four digs and two blocks.
Caitlyn Smith and
Jada Wills each had seven digs on defense.
Kylee Macke had six digs to go along with her 18 digs in Friday night's season opener against Iowa State to earn a spot on the Cyclone Challenge All-Tournament team.
Omaha hit .299 in the win with Rachel Fairbanks leading the way with 11 kills and eight digs while Sadie Limback added nine kills for the Mavericks.
Drake returns to action next week with three matches in Jacksonville, Fla. The three-match tournament opens Sept. 3 with matches against UNC Wilmington and Jacksonville.
