DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University men's basketball team hosted its annual media day Monday afternoon (Oct. 17) in the Shivers Basketball Practice Facility.
 
Media day started with head coach Darian DeVries previewing the upcoming 2022-23. DeVries returns a bulk of his lineup from a season ago including the 2021-22 Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year Tucker DeVries as well as D.J. Wilkins, Roman Penn, Garrett Sturtz and Darnell Brodie. Transfers Sardaar Calhoun and Eric Northweather highlight the newcomers this season. 
 
Following DeVries' opening remarks, student-athletes were made available for one-on-one interviews, photos and videos.
 
Drake will play host to Minnesota Duluth Nov. 3 at the Knapp Center in its lone exhibition contest at 7 p.m. before welcoming IUPUI on Nov. 9 for the 2022-23 season opener.
