ST. LOUIS – The Drake football team saw two of its members earn Pioneer Football League Player of the Week honors, the league announced Sunday, Nov. 13. Senior linebacker
Tanner Pollock took home PFL Defensive Player of the Week while Luke Williams as the PFL Special Teams of the Week.
Pollock's interception with 43 seconds left helped set up Drake's game-winning drive in a 27-24 victory over Butler on Saturday (Nov. 12). With Butler driving late, Pollock intercepted a pass and returned it to the Butler 38-yard line leading to the game-winning score. He also had 15 tackles (10 solo) and a tackle for loss in the victory, including six tackles in the fourth quarter.
Williams' 22-yard field goal with eight seconds left boosted Drake to the 27-24 victory over Butler. He connected on two of his three field goal attempts, hitting a 31-yarder for Drake's first points of the afternoon, while also converting all three of his PATs to finish with nine points in the win.
The Bulldogs will conclude the 2022 season at Valparaiso on Saturday (Nov. 19) in search of three straight wins.
