SPRINGFIELD, MO. – The Drake University women's basketball team fell to Missouri State, 59-63, in the final seconds on Friday evening.
The Bulldogs trailed until 25 seconds left in the first quarter when graduate guard
Maddie Petersen hit a shot from the arc to put Drake up 17-15.
Missouri State went scoreless in the second quarter until guard Isabelle Delarue hit a three with 6:50 left in the half, pulling the Bears within four of the Bulldogs.

Hannah Fuller added five.
The Bulldogs outshot the Bears in the first half, leading at most by seven.
The Bears tied the game, 32-32, 10 seconds into the third quarter when Sydney Wilson hit a three. From then on it was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams.
Junior forward
Maggie Bair led the way for the Bulldogs as she scored five of her 15 total points in the third quarter.
Freshman guard
Katie Dinnebier lead Drake in rebounds when she grabbed a total of five. She grabbed three in the third quarter alone to help the Bulldogs keep the game close.
With 1;04 left in the game, Bair went to the line for two shots. She made both and pulled the Bulldogs within two of the Bears, 59-57.
On the next play, Bears forward Abby Jackson turned the ball over in the paint and Dinnebier scored a lay-up to tie the game 59-59.
With 17 seconds left, Bair fouled Missouri State guard Mariah White, sending her to the free throw line. White made both shots to put the Bears up two.
Berg was then fouled with six seconds left. She went to the line for two but missed both shots in a loud JQH Arena.
Berg finished with 10 points, three rebounds, and two blocks.
With five seconds on the clock,
Maggie Bair received her fifth foul, drawn by Jackson. Jackson went to the line and made both shots to put the Bears up four.
Bair finished with 15 points and led the team with three assists.
Jackson led the Bears with 22 points, adding six rebounds, two steals, and two blocks.
Petersen attempted a three pointer with one second left but was blocked by Missouri State, ending the game 59-63.
Petersen finished with 10 points. She is five points away from hitting 1000 on her career and two assists away from 500 on her career.
The game had 13 jump balls called in the 40 minutes.
The Bulldogs head to Carbondale, Ill. to take on SIU on Sunday Feb. 13.
