ST. LOUIS, Missouri – The Drake University women's tennis picked up several post season awards, as announced by the Missouri Valley Conference April 21.
First year head coach
Kristina Lott earned coach of the year after leading the Bulldogs to an undefeated conference season. Drake held a 13-6 record overall. Lott took over the program in August 2021 after serving as an assistant coach for two seasons. She helped lead the program to the 2021 MVC title.
Freshman
Mille Haagensen earned MVC Freshman of the year after going undefeated in MVC singles play. She holds a 10-6 overall record, defeating opponents from Minnesota and Wichita State. In addition to Freshman of the Year, Haagensen also earned the No. 4 Singles All-Conference honors.

Darinka Stepan earned All-Conference No. 3 doubles after going undefeated in conference play. The duo holds a 11-6 record this season.
Sophomore
Ines Stephani earned No. 2 Singles All-Conference honors. She went 4-1 in singles competition this season, falling only to Valparaiso. She clinched the win for the Bulldogs against Illinois State when the deciding point came down to her singles match.
Senior
Liza Petushkova earned All-Select team honors for the third straight season after finishing with a 4-1 record in singles play. Her only loss occurred against Illinois State.
The Bulldogs return to action Saturday April 23 at 10am as they face the winner of the Stony Brook, Valparaiso match that takes place on Friday April 22.
