With this summer's enhancements to the Knapp Center's lower level and ongoing fundraising efforts for the second phase in the summer of 2023, the Drake Athletics Department is creating one of the best home court advantages in the Missouri Valley Conference.
This renovation has required a re-think of overall seating and ticketing strategy for several reasons. For example, the previous Knapp Center seating chart had lower-level sections lettered from A-T and upper-level sections numbered 1-25. The renovated Knapp Center features lower-level seating in sections 101-120, with fewer seats in each lower-level row. The upper-level seating was not impacted by the first phase of the renovation, however, the sections have been adjusted to sections 201-225.
Since the end of 2021-22 seasons, Drake Athletics has analyzed basketball ticketing trends within the MVC, our previous seasons' ticket sales and attendance, and ticket pricing for other entertainment options in Central Iowa. Based on this analysis, we are changing the pricing model for seats in sections 101-120. There is no price increase to season tickets in sections 201-225 this year.

1. Men's Basketball Season Ticket Prices
- There is no longer a payment requirement for the Bulldog Seat Fund. Your only cost for season tickets is the ticket price.
- All lower level seating outside of the student section, and adjacent sections of 105 and 110, will be chairback seating.

Q: What are my next steps for renewing and selecting my season tickets for 2022-23?
A: All current season ticket holders for men's and women's basketball will receive an email on August 10th that details the time you can select and renew your seats. The men's basketball seat selection will start on August 24th and finish on August 30th. The women's basketball seat selection will begin on August 31st and end on September 2nd.
Q: Why have ticket prices increased?
A: Ticket prices increased for only 25.7% of seats within the 2022 renovated Knapp Center. Seat locations that have seen increases are lower-level seating along the north and south sidelines, as well as seating in the east end zone. Pricing remains the same this year as last year for the remainder of the seats. Many factors led to raising ticket prices for the lower-level seats. First, our ticket prices now better reflect the renovated Knapp Center that features premium seating options and new chairbacks in the east end zone of the lower level. Second, our prices, especially for our men's games, are more comparable to the competitive ticket prices in the Missouri Valley Conference and other peer Midwest institutions. When evaluating our season ticket and individual game prices, our price points for the men's program ranked in the bottom third of the MVC despite being the third-largest MVC market and having the most wins among any current MVC member over the past four years. The price increase will move us from the bottom third of pricing and closer to the middle of the league, yet is still below the average league price. Third, our women's basketball season ticket prices reflect the sustained success of our program and the strong non-conference home schedule. Our women's non-conference opponents typically includes NCAA Tournament teams such as: Iowa, Iowa State, Creighton, Nebraska, Minnesota, South Dakota, and South Dakota State. Finally, the capacity for the Knapp Center will decrease this year due to the renovation. The lower level will hold over 500 fewer seats from the addition of wider, more comfortable seats and the new chairbacks that wrap around the east baseline.
Q: Why did Bulldog Club levels and benefits change?
A: There have not been major updates to the Bulldog Club benefits chart since 2014 and much has changed for Drake Athletics in that time. Our campus continues to grow and we have less parking around the Knapp Center than previous years. We have also seen growth in our basketball fan base. These changes reflect the increase in demand and will allow us to accommodate Bulldog Club members more readily with benefits that match their level of support.
Q: Will there still be a Drake faculty and staff discount on season tickets?
A: Yes, Drake Athletics wishes to reward and recognize the support from Drake's faculty and staff, who play an integral role in the overall student-athlete experience at Drake. Therefore, we will offer faculty and staff a 20% discount for season tickets.
Q: Will I still receive my season ticket as a member of the D-Club?
