LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. -- The Drake women's golf team earned its first Top-5 finish as a team this season at the Loyola Parkinson Invitational hosted by the Merit Club (Par 72 | 6,041 yards) on Tuesday, Oct. 10. The Bulldogs (315-322-304--941) moved into fifth place while North Dakota State (304-299-311) won the event.
Julie Huggins (84-75-75--234) was steady again on the course for her best finish of the season (T-17th).
Amber Henson (77-83-75--235) and
Aayushi Sarkar (82-78-75--235) both wound up in the Top-20 tied for 19th place overall. Huggins and Sarkar both buried five birdies during the tournament while Drake collectively totaled the second most pars (147).
Erika Holmberg (77-86-79--242) and
Rylee Heryford (79-86-80--245) both bounded back in round three.
Kate Connolly (92-83-76--251) got better every round competing as an individual.
The Bulldogs will square off against UNI in a dual on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
