PEORIA, Ill. -- Brooke Mullins' individual 6K win highlighted the day as the Drake University cross country teams gritted out competitive races through light rain at the Bradley Pink Classic hosted by Newman Golf Course on Friday, Oct. 13.
In the women's Red 6K race,
Brooke Mullins won with a time of 20:33.2.
Carmen Krawczynski Gonzalez (21:49.2) and
Emilie Meyer (21:51.0) were the next two Bulldog runners to cross the finish line in 29th and 32nd place respectively.
Anastasia Kirillov logged a final time of 22:39.5 while
Amanda Radava (23:04.5) and Barbara Vrohovac (23:19.1) were about 15 seconds apart. Erin Macfarlane (23:33.60) rounded Drake's performers in the Red 6K with a personal best. Earlier in the day,
Meghan Coulter (23:58.3),
Chiara Belfico (24:06.0) and
Maia Italia (24:18.3) were grouped together for most of the race.
Kate Parsons (25:23.40) and
Vanessa Lee (25:28.10) navigated Newman Golf Course for the first time.
The Drake men's XC squad finished sixth in the team standings of the Red 8K led by
Connor Visnic (24:39.0) in 15th place, who just missed his PR.
Brogan Giffin (24:44.6) cracked the top-20 followed by
Juan Trasobares (24:53.1) in 29th.
Aidan Simon (25:06.7) and
Aidan Ramsey (25:19.40) were the next pair of Bulldogs to complete the course.
Ethan Vargas (25:41.2) and
Jack Burns (26:50.40) brought home Drake's competitors on the men's side.
The MVC Championships await the Drake cross country programs on Oct. 27 in Nashville, Tenn.
