ST. LOUIS -- Drake football senior kicker/punter
Shane Dunning was named Pioneer Football Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced on Sunday, Oct. 22 for his contributions in Drake's first win at San Diego since 2009.
Dunning made not one, but two 50-yard field goals (his career-long) during a 4-for-4 day kicking field goals. Dunning connected on field goals from 27 and 26 yards out early in the game as he scored 13 of Drake's 25 points.
The Muskego, Wis., native also averaged 37.5 yards on six punts and pinned the Toreros inside their 20-yard line on three occasions.
Drake football is 4-0 to begin PFL play for the first time since 2019. The Bulldogs play host to Stetson on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 12 p.m. inside Drake Stadium.
