Giles, Sarkar Lead Charge at ORU Spring Invite

Drake women's golf now shifts its focus to the MVC Championships.

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. -- Kristen Giles and Aayushi Sarkar were both even par during the final round of Drake women's golf's appearance at the ORU Spring Invite at The Club on Indiana Springs (par 72) Tuesday, April 11.  

Drake (312-318-297--927) tied its lowest round of the season and finished 10th on the ORU Spring Invite team leaderboard. 

Giles (73-78-72--222) finished tied for 16th overall to notch another top-20 finish in her impressive career. Aayushi Sarkar (81-80-72--233) improved her previous round's score by eight strokes on day to end in a tie for 39th. 

Amber Henson (79-79-77--235) led Drake in birdies while turning in her tournament-low score of 77 in the third round. Kelly Kavanagh (79-82-77--238) also fired her tournament-best round of 77 to close out the event. 

Rylee Heryford (82-81-76--239) also finished strong as Abby Marting (82-84-77--243) competed as an individual.

Drake women's golf will compete for a conference title at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships April 16-18 at Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Ill.
