ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Drake track & field sophomore Anthony Barmes earned Missouri Valley Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the third time this year, the league announced on Wednesday, April 12.

Barmes won the men's hammer throw at the Dutch Invitational on Friday, April 7 by bettering his school record of 68.95m/226' 2.5", which is the best all-time in the MVC.

Barmes currently ranks 16th in the NCAA in the hammer throw this season and the third-best so far this year in the Midwest Region. This throw also broke the facility record at Central College. 

Drake track & field will host the Jim Duncan Invitational on Friday, April 14 at historic Drake Stadium.
