INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Drake University track and field finished up the 2026 MVC Indoor Championship on Monday with another solid showing. The Bulldogs produced a pair of runners-up plus two other podium placements to highlight the day.
Maud Visscher and
Carter Beasley both earned silver medals for the Dogs. Visscher threw the shot put 14.86m/48-9 to take runner-up honors while Beasley ran an 800 in 1:50.94. Beasley was also awarded with the MVC's Outstanding Men's Freshman honor.
Brenden Heitzig and
Ethan Elliott added two more podium finishes with a pair of third place results. Heitzig ran the men's 3000 in 8:10.62 while Elliott heaved 18.37m/60-3 1/4 in the men's shot put.
Elsewhere, the Drake men produced fourth place finishes in the men's mile and men's 4x400 relay.
Lanse Larsen ran his mile in 4:08.78.

Berkley Munnings,
Carter Beasley, and
Drake Dombrosky teamed up for a 3:16.03 relay result.
The Drake women also boasted a solid 4x400 time of 3:58.20.
Marieli Estrello,
Ella Brown,
Avery Littlejohn, and Emaline Nau joined their talents for that time, good enough
for sixth place.
Xander Kwa and
Anastasia Kirillov each added a sixth-place finish of their own. Kwa posted a pace of 4:13.62 while Kirillov ran 9:42.36 in the men's mile and women's 3000, respectively.
Kayci Martensen rounded out Drake's top finishers with a seventh place showing in the women's mile. Martensen crossed the line in 4:37.94.
In the team race, Drake's men's squad finished fourth with 61 total points. The Bulldog women were seventh with 36 points.
