PELLA, Iowa – The Drake track & field team's spring season rolled on at the Dutch Invitational Friday, April 7.
Anthony Barmes bettered his own school record in the men's hammer throw, moving the all-time mark to 226-02 while
Ethan Marshall (202-01) and
Adam Phillips (195-02) rounded out the top three.
Chandler Haight broke her own women's shot put program record from 2021 and won the event with a shot put of 50-11.
Centaine Noom-Duckworth set her personal best in the women's hammer throw with a heave of 184-00 to rank second all-time in program history.
Adam Phillips (174-11) and
Austin Jentz (167-05) finished third and fourth respectively in the men's discus throw.
Phillips (56-06) moved into fourth all-time in the men's shot put at Drake.
Juan Trasobares (3:50.19) took fifth with
Nate Osterstock (3:52.38) close behind in seventh during the men's 1500m. On the women's side,
Madysen Klebenow (5:03.21) registered her 1500m personal best.
Savannah Ming turned in a runner-up 100m finish with a personal record of 12.21 followed by
Rutendo Mafuta (12.30) in third, who just missed her PR.
Ming (25.22) grabbed second place and Mafuta (25.68) took fifth in the women's 200m dash.
Brendan Cain was victorious in the men's 3000m steeplechase with a personal best time of 9:31.54.
Iris Hertting (59.48) ran a season-best 400m to win the women's 400m.
Hayden Cross set a personal record of 48.67 in the men's 400m to finish third while
Caleb Lerus (49.18) was fifth. Cross recorded another personal best of 21.61 to place second in the men's 200m dash.
Drake track & field will host the Jim Duncan Invitational on April 14 at Drake Stadium.
