DES MOINES, Iowa – A fourth newcomer has inked her letter of intent to join the Drake women's basketball program, the team announced today. Woodbury, Minn. native Emily Christenson has officially committed to play for the Bulldogs starting in the 2023-24 year.
Christenson played her prep ball at East Ridge High School where she starred for the Raptors, averaging double figure scoring as a senior. She racked up a long list of personal accolades including three varsity letters and All-Suburban East Conference awards. In her final season at East Ridge, Christenson was also named the SEC Player of the Year, an East Metro top finalist, a Star Tribune All-Metro Honorable Mention, and an All-State Honorable Mention.
The 5'11" wing also played on the AAU circuit for the Minnesota Stars, one the Midwest's premier club programs.

Allison Pohlman said about her team's newest signee. "She has an appreciate for Drake women's basketball and will be a wonderful addition to our program. She has a scorer's mindset, a high basketball IQ, and is a definite team player. We are overjoyed that Emily has chosen to be a Bulldog."
Christenson plans on majoring in business.
