AMES, Iowa – The Drake track & field team had one final tune-up before the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships at the Iowa State Alumni Invitational on Saturday, May 6.

Barmes continued his dominance in the men's hammer throw with a heave of 227-1 to win the event followed in second by teammate
Ethan Marshall (205-1).
Centaine Noom-Duckworth set a new personal best in the women's hammer throw for third in the meet with a toss of 187-8.
Chandler Haight (50-0) reached the 50-feet plateau again to finish fifth. Haight was the runner-up in the women's discus with a throw of 149-10. On the men's side,
Adam Phillips (169-11) was also runner-up in the shot put.
Savannah Ming set a pair of personal records in both the 100m (12.13) and 200m (24.90).
Rutendo Mafuta recorded a personal best of her own in the 100m (12.22).
Barbara Vrhovac (2:17.82) was second and
Gracie Shannon (2:18.94) notched a PR to highlight the women's 800m.
Iris Hertting ran a personal best 57.73 in the women's 400m.
Hayden Cross (48.69) won the men's 400m and
Joseph Kruse (49.74) finished third.
Deylin Chandler (50.48) and
Dyer Jarabek (50.75) both earned personal records.
Drake track & field now shifts its focus to the MVC Outdoor Championships May 12-14 hosted by Illinois State in Normal, Ill.
