DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Drake University Athletic Department achieved the highest finish in the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup of any Missouri Valley Conference school during the 2022-23 season. 

The Bulldogs accumulated 167.50 points across 18 sports to finish 103rd. The historic Drake Athletics campaign was capped this spring by the NCAA Championship appearances by Isaac Basten and Anthony Barmes of Drake track & field.
 
Men's basketball made the program's second NCAA Tournament appearance in the last three years after claiming the MVC Tournament Title at Arch Madness. Women's basketball also returned to the Big Dance with a championship-winning effort at Hoops in the Heartland. 
 
Men's tennis marked back-to-back trips to the NCAA Tournament in 2023 with another Summit League Tournament title going into the trophy case while Drake women's tennis won the MVC crown under first-year head coach Breaunna Addison. 
 
The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
