CHICAGO -- The Drake University cross country teams were out in full force at Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course for the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational on Friday, Sept. 29. Drake men's cross country finished third as a team in the loaded 16-team field ahead of nationally ranked Tulsa and Ole Miss.
In the women's 6K,
Brooke Mullins (20:38.7) finished in 36th place to pace Drake while
Carmen Krawczynski Gonzalez (21:04.0) was next to cross the finish line for Bulldogs in 58th.
Emilie Meyer logged a final time of 21:23.5.
Amanda Radava (22:44.0) and
Anastasia Kirillov (22:53.2) wound up near each other.
Barbara Vrhovac (23:20.7) was followed by Erin Macfarlane (23:53.9).
Maia Italia (24:11.9) and
Meghan Coulter (24:27.7) were the last two finishers for the Drake women's squad.
Newcomer
Cameron Bell led the Bulldog men with a 15th-place finish of 24:01.6,
Aziz Jdai (24:05.1),
Enzo Marie (24:06.0) and
Isaac Basten (24:11.6) all racked up Top-30 performances.
Jake Turner (24:24.4) came in 41st place followed by
Aidan Ramsey (24:35.9) and
Connor Visnic (24:38.8).
Aidan Simon turned in a time of 25:37.1.
The next meet on the schedule for Drake cross country is the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Ill. on Friday, Oct. 13.
