Weather Shortens Bama Beach Bash to Two Rounds

Drake women's golf ended up participating in 36 holes of play after the first round was called off.

GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Drake women's golf team is past the halfway point of the spring season after completing the Bama Beach Bash at Gulf Shores Golf Club March 17-19. The originally scheduled 54-hole tournament was trimmed to 36 holes after the first round was postponed due to weather on March 17.

Drake finished 13th out of 17 teams with a combined two-round score of 631 (311-320). Sam Houston State won the tournament with a total score of 585 (292-293).

Amber Henson (76-79—155) turned in Drake's lowest round of the event and was followed closely by Julie Huggins (77-79—156).

Aayushi Sarkar (80-79—159) was consistent over both rounds sitting two strokes ahead of teammate Rylee Heryford (78-83—161). Erika Holmberg (93-85—178) rounded out the Drake lineup.

The Bulldogs will return to action at the ORU Spring Invite April 8-9.
