2024 Shriners Children's Charleston Classic Bracket Set

Bulldogs set to face Miami (Fla.) in the opening round

CHARLESTON, S.C. – ESPN Events has revealed the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic bracket, to be played on Nov. 21, 22 and 24 at TD Arena in Charleston, S.C. The Drake men's basketball team is set for a first-round battle with the Hurricanes of Miami in a 2023 NCAA Tournament First Round rematch.

The 2024 Charleston Classic field is filled with teams with loads post-season success. Florida Atlantic, Nevada, and Drake played in the NCAA tournament last year, while VCU and Seton Hall played in the National Invitational Tournament, with Seton Hall winning the NIT Championship. Miami and FAU were Final Four participants in 2023. The Hurricanes are two-time Charleston Classic champions, having won the tournament in 2009 and 2014.

Drake and Miami will tip off the entire event with an early afternoon bout on Thursday, Nov. 21. The two teams have previously squared off once in a different first round – the 2023 NCAA Tournament. Miami chased down the Bulldogs in that neutral site matchup, winning the first-ever meeting between Drake and Hurricanes by a 63-56 margin.

Depending on the result of their game versus the Hurricanes, Drake will either take on Oklahoma State or Florida Atlantic the following day. On the other side of the bracket, Seton Hall and VCU will meet in the first round while Vanderbilt and Nevada fill the final line.

The bracket-format tournament features 12 games over three days. The teams compete once per day, regardless of results. The two unbeaten teams will face off in the championship game on ESPN on Sunday, Nov. 24. The full schedule is included below. All-tournament tickets for the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic will go on sale in early September. Fans
