SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Drake Men's Tennis was picked to finish in fifth place out of the six teams in the Summit League preseason poll. The Bulldogs finished with a poll score of 10 and received no first-place votes. Denver, who defeated Drake in the Summit League Championship last season, finished first in the polling with five first-place votes.

Ben Johnson was tabbed as Drake's preseason athlete to watch, selected by the league's head coaches. The United Kingdom native is one of three returning players from last season's team, and he went 7-3 in fall 2024 singles play. His fall performance was highlighted by winning the main draw in the Knapp Invite, where he went 4-0. Rounding out the Athletes to Watch list are Daniel Sancho Arbizu from Denver, Leandro Zgraggen from North Dakota, Mikhail Korkunov from Omaha and Ricardo Filho from Oral Roberts.
