ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Drake kicker
Harry Balke collected Pioneer Football League Special Teams Player of the Week today after delivering in the clutch to secure a Bulldog win yesterday, the conference announced.
Balke, a San Diego native, enjoyed his homecoming by connecting on a walk-off 55-yarder that lifted Drake to a 19-16 PFL victory at San Diego. The winning kick, which was also a career-long, followed a 43-yarder he made earlier in the fourth quarter. He was 1-for-2 on PATs, missing one in the fourth quarter, but redeemed himself with the game-winner.
Balke and the Bulldogs will be back in action next weekend when Davidson visits Des Moines. The Bulldogs and Wildcats will kick off at noon in Drake Stadium.
